Pierer Mobility Group - the parent company of KTM, Husqvarna, and GasGas brands, has announced a range of future models under the ‘Performance and Urban E-Mobility’ topic during its investor presentation. The company is reportedly working on the development of electric motorcycles and scooters for the Husqvarna brand. The document also reveals that the electric motorcycle will be called 'E-Pilen' and it will be launched by 2022.
According to the document, the electric motorcycle is still under development and it will use a modular battery system. The E-Pilen will be available with two electric motors - 4 kW (5.4 bhp) and 10 kW (13.5 bhp). In terms of design, the E-Pilen will look identical to the Svartpilen and Vitpilen twins. Going by the concept image, you can easily notice a pair of WP USD forks and monoshock, four-spoke alloy wheels, knuckle guards, fluorescent highlights and steel-braided brake lines.
Similarly, Husqvarna is also working on an electric scooter which will go on sale in 2021. Both the E-Pilen and the new electric scooter will be manufactured at Bajaj's plant at Chakan, India.
